用于做饭和取暖的固体燃料是大气污染物的主要来源之一，对区域大气污染和室内空气质量均有很大影响。但长期以来没有引起足够重视。北京大学城市与环境学院陶澍课题组在开展了大规模全国调查的基础上，建立了中国农村生活能源结构和用量数据库，分析了1992-2012年能源结构的转型特征，证明国际能源署发布的数据在生物质用量的变化趋势方面都有很大偏差。
