近二十几年以来，低成本锂-硫电池受到研究者的广泛关注，其被认为是现有锂离子电池技术的强有力竞争者之一。大量文献已证实，通过研制优异的电极、隔膜、粘结剂以及电解质等关键材料可以大大提高其室温条件下的充放电性能和安全性。然而，在极端温度条件下（如-40 °C至80 °C的宽温域范围），锂-硫电池通常表现出容量快速下降、倍率性能不足甚至严重的安全问题。
