以库里蒂巴为例，对建设BRT的城市条件和工程特征、BRT规划的前提条件、系统优势和不足进行了分析。明确了BRT属于常规公交范畴的功能定位，提出了BRT在北京成为客运交通骨干方式的特定条件和 BRT的关键工程条件，对北京的BRT系统提出规划建议。
