近日，在国际标准化组织地理信息技术委员会（ISO/TC 211）第58次全体会议上，清华大学地球系统科学系白玉琪教授获得了ISO中央秘书处和ISO/TC 211联合颁发的“ISO卓越贡献奖”（ISO Excellence Award），以表彰他作为工作组召集人和标准项目负责人所做出的突出贡献。这是中国地理信息领域专家首次获得该奖项。
